Improved Quality of Tungsten Carbide Balls
The geometric properties of tungsten carbide balls for the stationary industry have been improved. By using an additional and new manufacturing process, the quality of balls could have been enhanced. Every single ball charge is being treated very homogeneously in this process. In this way, both values of roundness and diameter tolerance of one charge result in enhanced ball qualities. The quality of balls almost resembles G5 (ISO 3290). Consequently, the end user will observe this new quality by a more "soft" feeling of writing. The new property of the ball as described here is being reviewed by the stationary industry by means of testing equipment for writing.
